M-JPAT– MANAGEMENT JOINT PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT TEST is an attempt to provide a Combined platform for students, Indian and International, and participating MBA colleges / Graduate Business Schools for the second round of the MBA selection process.

M-JPAT is a complete Application, Selection and Admission Process conducated after the written exam.

It is conducted on behalf of MBA colleges / Graduate Business Schools, at 65 locations in India and select cities in neighbouring countries. M-JPAT requires students to fill a single Application Form and appear for a single GD-PI round for admission to all the associated colleges.

The objective of the test is to match the student's capabilities and preference with the offerings of an MBA college, thereby :

  • One Admission Application Form (M-JPAT Form)  costing Rs 1900/-¥ is required to apply to  all the associated MBA colleges.

    The process seeks to relieve students from the burden of filling up multiple individual college Application Forms and also minimizes the associated expenditure.

  • All AICTE approved written test scores are accepted.

    Students with valid written test scores of CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, ATMA or GMAT / GRE are eligible to participate in the M-JPAT process.

  • M-JPAT is a unified second round process.

    The second phase of testing for all students who have taken the written test is done through Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Students registering for M-JPAT process need to appear for just one combined GD and PI session as a part of the selection process for securing admission to any one of the associated MBA Colleges. The second round admission process is conducted at 65locations across India and select cities in neighbouring countries.

    The M-JPAT website contains institute-specific details with respect to infrastructure, faculty, accreditation, placements, fees etc.

  • The Associated  MBA colleges finally select screened applicants from the M-JPAT process based on their specific criteria.

  • One stage Final Selection Process.

    The Personality Assessment Round is followed by the Final Selection and Admission Process to various programs of the associated MBA colleges. It is a one stage-online process. The admission process is completed within 15 days of the offer being made by an MBA college.

  • One Common Admission Process.

    Students are allotted colleges based on the calls obtained from various colleges, their M-JPAT Rank, their  preferences and availability of seats.

Evaluation Process Close
M-JPAT will conduct a common Personality Assessment Round on behalf of  all the associated MBA Colleges. The candidates should have a valid  AICTE approved written test score (CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT or ATMA ) or  GMAT / GRE.

The Personality Assessment round will be conducted on predefined dates.

The Personality Assessment Round will primarily comprise of group discussion / case presentation  and personal interview.

The Group Discussion round will be used to check the ability of the student to perform in groups and get his/her viewpoint heard in a group and, most importantly to check for the spontaneity and logicality of thought.

The Personal Interview Round will consist of two sections

  • The HR round will be a test of communication skills, thinking ability, clarity of   goals and personal disposition.

  • The Academic/Technical round will be a test of subject knowledge and  knowledge of the work place. It will also test the candidates ability to apply their learnt skills. 

The interviews will be conducted by panels nominated by M-JPAT. They will consists of academicians, industry experts and leading B-School alumni.

Each interview session will be of approximately 20 minutes duration.

The group discussion will be of approximately 15 minutes and each group will consist of a maximum of 12 students.

PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT ROUND IS NOT AN ELIMINATION ROUND.

All information submitted by the student during application will be verified during the Personality Assessment Round . Students will be required to carry original documents testifying their academic performance, extracurricular activities and documents related to employment for verification.

Students need to submit the valid written score on predefined dates.

The written tests approved by AICTE (CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT or ATMA  taken during the period September 2014-February 2015) or GMAT / GRE ( taken during the period 1st January 2011 to 15th March 2015) will be considered for evaluation. Students can submit more than one written score. All the written scores submitted by a student will be normalized to an M-JPAT written score based on computing algorithms. The best written score will be considered for evaluation.

SCORE COMPUTATION FOR STUDENTS : Results will be declared on predefined dates.

The M-JPAT scores and ranks will be computed based on the following parameters :

  • Academic Record.

  • Work Experience.

  • Statement of Purpose - (as stated in the Application Form).

  • Written Test Scores.

  • Group Discussion Rating.

  • Interview Rating.

The weightage assigned to the different parameters are as below :

Eligibility - For Indian Students

The candidate must hold a valid Bachelor’s Degree, awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.

The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university / institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the university / institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.

The candidate should also have appeared / applied for an AICTE APPROVED written test (CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT or ATMA  taken during the period September 2014 - February 2015).


Eligibility - For International Students

The candidate must hold a valid Bachelor’s Degree (College Degree (3/4 years) Certificate) and Mark Sheet, offered by approved universities at the national level of any country.

Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.

The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university / institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree.
